Connie Jordan Nielsen brings over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and has played a significant role in shaping Richmond’s retail market. While she serves clients across Virginia, she is based in Richmond and has closed more than $200 million in transactions over the past decade. Connie has spearheaded expansions for major retailers such as Gold’s Gym, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Panera Bread, Cava Grill, and Chipotle. Her expertise spans retail tenant and landlord representation as well as strategic site development. Notably, she led negotiations that brought Wegmans to Richmond and introduced Publix to Virginia. She has also been a key figure in the development of shopping centers including Carytown Place, Nuckols Place, The Corner at Short Pump, Staples Mill Marketplace, Stonehenge Village, Dominion Shoppes, and SwiftCreek Place. In addition, Connie manages acquisitions and sales of retail properties and land. She serves as an Associate Broker and Senior Vice President at Thalhimer’s Richmond office, where she led the firm’s Retail Services Group—comprising over 35 retail specialists—for more than a decade.
